  Do It Afraid |  2 Timothy 1:7.   We often quote the scripture, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind,” 2 Timothy 1:7. It is a very popular scripture. Songs are even written about it. But the reality is, many of us are scared to death! Life is scary. That is why we do everything possible to find a safe place of comfort and perceived normalcy. The fear of the unknown is just too much. We stay in dysfunctional relationships, unfulfilling jobs, bad marriages, abusive situations…because we’re afraid of what could happen if we leave. At least it’s the monster you know 😕. In a way, this scripture makes us feel like being afraid is a sin. God didn’t give us the spirit of fear, so if you’re afraid, then something is wrong with you as a believer. Therefore, many times we do not move forward and take a leap of faith so that we won’t have to experience the anxiety of a new uncertain fearful situation. But I would l...
